If you are considering moving to Miami, you need to know about Brickell, Miami. Living in Brickell Miami is one of the most lively and prime neighborhoods to live, work, and leisure in Miami in 2022.
This neighborhood is one of Miami’s most vibrant and growing neighborhoods.
Brickell is the Manhattan of the south as some may call it, lots of highrise condos and luxury living but without the freezing temperatures. It gives you dazzling city and Biscayne bay views with easy access to everything around. This, and so much more, makes living in Brickell one of my favorite neighborhoods to live in. But before you decide to call Brickell home, you might want to learn a little more about what life in Brickell is really like. Don’t worry we got you covered. Here are the pros and cons and the cost of living in Brickell. Also if you want to skip the reading and check out my YouTube video about Living In Brickell click here.
Pros Of Living In Brickell

P-U-B-L-I-C Transportation
Let’s be real, transporting around the city can suck. Cities like Los Angeles, D.C. and, yes, even Miami have record traffic. Brickell found a way around that problem with public transportation. You can get all around this urban jungle by using the Miami metro mover, or you can take the city bus, the tri-rail, or the free trolley. You can get to places in minutes like downtown, bayside, the airport, the Miami American Airlines Arena now named FTX Arena, coconut groove, or even to the University of Miami you name it!
Brickell knows transportation makes the world go round. That’s why they even made the metro and trolley free to users. Here is a link that will show you all of the methods of transportation in Brickell, Miami 2021.
If you don’t want to hop on the skyrocket, you can easily find scooters which are super easy to use, and they are pretty much on every corner In Brickell and Downtown. So push kick your way to the Brickell City Center or to classes at the Miami Dade College Campus, or even to work! Regardless of how you want to travel: Uber, metro, scooters, bike, or walking all are made easy in Brickell. Everything is really close by. Condos, restaurants, the beach, and the fun activities Miami has to offer are all in walking distance. Proximity gives Brickell its value.
Luxury Condos In Brickell

In all of Miami you can find luxury and nightlife. But Brickell offers the crème de la crème. You can find brand new luxury apartments, condos with full 5 star amenities, pools, world-class fitness centers, virtual golf and so much more. It’s the buffet of all access luxury living in Brickell.
Now, I mentioned in the intro that Brickell has that New York Night Lifestyle (told you I’d get back to this). There are a lot of clubs, bars, and restaurants; and as I told you before, all walking distance! There is even a one billion dollar project, the Brickell City Centre that you have to check out, from great shops to a movie theater and top-notch restaurants, entertainment is pretty much guaranteed.
Environment

When I say environment, I’m not talking about the green spaces (actually that’s one of the cons as you will read shortly). I’m talking about the business and educational environment. The people who live in Brickell and its surroundings. IMO, this is definitely a pro. As our Miami rapper Trick Daddy once said: everybody knows somebody that knows somebody that knows somebody. And you want to know somebody, right?
In Brickell, you are going to be surrounded by a lot of young foreign professionals who are more than likely living and working in Brickell since Brickell is home to over 100 different financial institutions from Latin America and all over the world. It has a very high concentration of International Banks and Multinational Companies who make Miami home, specifically Brickell to be a strategic key hub between the US and Latin America. Also for those of you who are in Tech, Miami has been mentioned as the fastest-growing tech job city in the country in 2021 Q2 so the tremendous job opportunities await you.
Nightlife In Brickell
One thing that I love about Brickell is its nightlife and vibrant city. There are so many places to choose from when going out in Brickell, from waterfront dining, to small boutique cafes to 5-star restaurants with top world-renowned chefs.
If you are into clubbing and going out late, then you have Mary Brickell Village with many bars, restaurants and live music making it one of Brickells most popular destinations. So no matter what you are into when it comes to dining and nightlife, Brickell will more than likely offer it to you.
Cons Of Living In Brickell

If I convinced you that living in Brickell was paradise, well, here’s a bail of cold water. No place is perfect. Brickell may come close, but here are a few things you will want to watch out for or at least know about before moving to Brickell.
Traffic
You: But Hans, you said transportation was a pro!
Me: No… I said P-U-B-L-I-C transportation was a pro, compared to other neighborhoods in Miami.
In Brickell, just like every other city, you will find terrible traffic. And here’s why: to get out of Brickell there are 2 different bridges if you are going north into Downtown Miami or even trying to get into the highway and Bridges = Traffic. So it’s no surprise that in both bridges there is a big chance you will find cars bumper to bumper.
Now keep in mind, When the traffic is the heaviest, it might take 30 minutes to get out of Brickell. So take this into account and set your alarm clock.
Brickell is a concrete jungle

Remember I said that Brickell has an environment. Well, I wasn’t talking about green spaces. If you are the kind of person that loves big structures, big city style neighborhoods, skyscrapers, etc. this is the place for you, look no further.
However, I personally love green areas. Lots of trees, Parks and lots of Palm Trees. So for me, it’s a big con that there are not many green areas around. Basically it’s a concrete jungle so that is something to keep in mind.
Living In Brickell Is Costly
I would do you a disservice if I don’t highlight how expensive it is to live in Brickell. I’ll keep it honest. It is one of the most expensive places to live in all of Miami. Condos can average from $500.000 to $20.000.000+. Like I said. Expensive.
And you know that if the housing is expensive then well, going to clubs and restaurants can be more expensive than in other places. So keep this in mind and get your wallet ready.
If you are looking to rent then you are looking at $2500 average for a one-bedroom and $3500 average for a nice 2 bedroom. A little higher than other areas of Miami but in my opinion, it is definitely worth it.

Conclusion
Now, If you’re a stay-at-home kind of person, or just like hanging out at the beach all day, then Miami has a ton of places that you can look into other than Brickell. Or if you’re looking for a more residential type of neighborhood or more family-friendly area then there are other areas for you. Just remember that it depends on the lifestyle you prefer. Miami has so much to offer, and Brickell is for those that want that luxury touch and easy accessibility, urban lifestyle living.
